Set Review ➟ LEGO® 71787 Creative Ninja Brick Box

We'll end the reviews of the new sets for early 2023 with this set, containing 530 pieces, 6 minifigures and priced at 59.99€. The plastic box with the look of a standard LEGO brick is certainly a plus for storing our pieces.

The contents as you can see are 7 numbered bags, a construction manual and the little bag of bones that we have come across in previous reviews of this series of Ninjago 2023 sets.

Inside the carton with the manual we find that the set is actually divided into 7 manuals, one for each bag, so we could start with any of them. We will follow the numerical order for the construction, so in the first bag we will build Kai and his car.

In the second manual we will build a part of the training dojo. Here we will get a rogue-faced apprentice with his nunchaku and practice boken. You can see these new references and these printed tiles. I would like to emphasize that in the instruction manual there are no quantities of pieces, that is to say, if a reference has to be used 4 times, it doesn't say x4, but it appears 4 times. As you can see, this training area is well equipped, with your barrel with shurikens and your forge area with a sacred sword. It also has a well equipped small armoury.

Next we built a motorbike for Nya to ride on, as well as a Bone hunter and a small tool stand. I have to say that I don't like the bike at all, but it has something very positive and that is that it is very easy to make it ride and it doesn't tip over and that is very playable.

Now it is time to continue with the tea ceremony area. As you can see the construction is practically a copy of the previous one. Also now we will make a stand with more weapons to expand the ninja training set.

Next we are going to do the apprentice training area. Here now appears an apprentice ninja, also with her boken, ready for anything!

This training area is very tough! I love the rotating module because with a slight push it picks up a lot of inertia and spins on its own - perfect for training really hard!

And we come to the final building that we will build with bags 6 and 7 and from where our beloved master Wu will watch his little padawans... I mean his little ninja!

And with just a few pieces we can achieve a great look!

The question that arose is.... Why is it called a ninja creative box? With the LEGO system we already know that we can make anything we can think of, the limit is our imagination, the number of pieces or the scale for example. So? The following pictures will clear up this slight mystery. The construction admits several configurations which makes it more playable and less tedious in time :).

As you can see, this is a very playable set, with some movable elements as well as configurable. It's an easy to build set, let's not forget that it's for children aged 5+, with a good set for builders of all ages and it will look great in your Ninjago City. We thank LEGO for sending this set for review in this article. The opinions expressed in this article are ours alone, and LEGO does not endorse or support them in any way.
