Set Review ➟ LEGO® 76922 - BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8

A double set of Speed Champions with a full BMW flavour awaits us on this trip. When I saw this box I immediately looked at the front holes looking for that characteristic BMW resemblance and I admit that I saw them not very suggestive. Very square... but... Can you think of another way? I'm going to say almost impossible task. A set with 2 pilots, 676 pieces and a price of 49,99€.

Seven bags, two manuals, two huge and one tiny sticker sheets and a car base. Just one? Don't worry, this one corresponds to the M4 model that we will assemble with the first four bags. The next base can be found in the next construction, although it is narrower than this one and that's why it comes inside one of the bags. So let's go to the construction.

The pilot is exceptional, the jumpsuit is beautiful!

In the next steps the cockpit is built. I really like how they have integrated part of the roll cage into the interior, everything is very compact and recognisable.

Now for the rear bumper. You can see the detail of how it attaches to the rest of the vehicle.

The volume is still given on the bumper and surprise! A plate with the BMW logo. With some cheese slopes on the upper part this bag is finished.

In this part, the rear part of the bonnet, the spoiler, the aerodynamic side parts and the front part of the chassis with its two wheels are built. This last part seems strange to me. Generally, a trivial thing like putting the 4 wheels on a manual sheet has always been the most natural thing to do. Here, however, only 2 wheels are placed and the construction goes on in this way. Be that as it may, the construction of the bonnet is superb. Too bad that the technic axles are visible on both sides.

At the lower front of the car we begin to see the complex flavour of the Speed Champions line. That set of parts that are millimetrically interlocked to provide a cool texture with an even cooler technique.

And with a few more parts there we have it. Now once finished I realise that without the stickers it looks like a model full of patches. Obviously with the stickers it looks more homogeneous and concealed.

Let's move on to the next model in the set to see what its construction shows us. First of all the pilot. As you can see, the overall is identical except for the red colour.

This car must have very few parts as it is built with the bags numbered 5, 6 and 7 but it seems to be a very simple one. The construction is classic stud on top except for the non-trivial nose of the car. I love the way the 2x1 panels fit on the black tiles. You have to be a high-flying builder to do something like this. You can also see that a printed tile has appeared that goes right on the front of the vehicle.

Then the sides of the vehicle are built in snot. The fit on 2 studs and a pallet is very firm and the resulting shape is great.

Next is the rear part. From here I would like to highlight the construction of the central fin. Although it is positioned on a single stud, it is practically immovable and centred.

Look at the blue side tiles next to the pilot's seat. Technique... Great!

The cockpit, mirrors and mirrors are placed and we reach the most important part of the end of the construction. Observe how the last blocks of parts fit together. There is nothing random in the whole process until we get here :)

An incredible model with very few pieces but without a doubt, the placement of each one of them is well thought out.

There is no doubt that this set is an excellent set due to the amount of techniques, pieces, the figures of the pilots, etc... If I had to say something less positive, it would be what I said before about the other model. If you don't put the stickers on the models they look much less. In the end it's your personal decision to do it this way, of course. There are also details to the eye that are fantastic. For example, when you look at the two models side by side you can see that there is a similarity of colours in the same areas. In other words, they have sought homogeneity in this. Another example is that the steering wheel can be set in two positions and the speedometer displays values correctly whichever way you look at it. These details tell us that there is nothing random in the generation of new parts and their impressions. A recommended set for fans of this line, LEGO in general and of course also for model collectors. We would like to thank LEGO for making this set available for review in this article.
