Set Review ➟ LEGO® 75399 Rebel U-Wing startfighter
Well, well, well... Who in this room hasn't seen the Andor series? I was really looking forward to this set, I confess, because of the Dedra Meero figure. I don't know why the character captivated me with a mixture of revulsion and curiosity. Be that as it may, she's here in minifigure form alongside Cassian Andor, an ISB tactical agent, and the inseparable droid K-2SO. Definitely a good choice.
The contents are six bags, the construction manual, and a small sheet with stickers.
What do you think of the ISB tactical figure? It's outrageously cool.
This first section begins with the cockpit. It is configured with a base plate, to which several plates with ball joints are added. I don't dislike the rear, which is simple and consistent.
Work continues on the front section, and once it is finished, we will be able to clearly see the central part that is so characteristic of the nose of Cassian's ship. The same criteria are followed as in the first section: brackets are added, then a decorated side wedge is fitted, and it is ready.
Cassian with his melancholic and sad face.
Halfway through the set, we extended the top part, adding the attachments for the wings. It's starting to grow, and judging by the pictures on the box, it's going to be quite large :O
Ah, Miss Dedra Meero! I love this figure, I've been looking forward to it!
The wings are quite simple but well made, and quite sturdy. Here you can see the detail of the ball-and-socket plate attachment better. Later on, this will bring us a surprise in the game.
It looks pretty good even though it's a playable, non-scale set ^^
Right, this is where the thrusters are built. These steps in the construction process are really enjoyable, to be honest, and the ship is super powerful now, isn't it?
What a looker! K-2SO. The truth is that it looks very similar to its previous version, the sw0782, but it's still quite appealing for those who couldn't get their hands on the old model.
The detail on the bottom window and sides is very good considering the small size of this scale model. The bottom opening is playable, although it is difficult to insert minifigures. It is good that the hatches can be fully opened.
Just a few more details, and Cassian's ship will be ready!
And its version with wings spread :O
The truth is that it is a rather fine set for its scale, a ship that is very recognisable to fans of the Andor series. Very playable, very sturdy, and the minifigures are all a must-have.
